¿Es legal el trading de forex en México?

Retail forex and CFD trading is described as legal in Mexico, but there is no specialized local regime for retail CFDs and no CNBV retail-forex licensing framework. Foreign brokers may serve Mexican clients under their home-country licences, while active solicitation or intermediary services inside Mexico without proper authorization can be restricted.

Of the 23 brokers we measure for México, 0 hold a local licence and the rest onboard residents through a foreign entity. That is not the same as being unregulated — it is a different question, and the broker pages name the entity in each case.

CNBV publishes warnings about dealing with unregulated or unauthorized brokers, and multiple sources advise checking that a broker is properly authorized before depositing funds. One source also notes that foreign brokers offering intermediary services actively within Mexico without CNBV authorization may breach local rules.
